New Music – 25/03/21

Only 3 months in and we already have an album of the year contestant. Our feature photo is of the man, the myth, the legend Genesis Owusu. Someone we’ll be talking about in the not to distant future when his a big star about how we got to see and book him in some tiny local venues and early on at festivals!! His already on the way to selling out 8 OAFS, next he’ll be doing 6 Enmores, a couple Hordens and christening the new Sydney Football Stadium. Anyway onto this months new music dump – hope you enjoy.

Genesis Owusu Smiling with No Teeth (Album) – Our next global 🌎 superstar. Sampa and Genesis to take over the world.

Dexy OscillatorGlory (album) – Great new punk release from these Melbourne lads. For fans of Shame, Clamm, B Boys

Dry CleaningStrong Feelings – Exciting to hear new stuff from these gals. This ones a bit of a slowburner, seems they have uped the production since the first EP. Both sound great either way.

SnakeheadsShit I dont Have Time For (ft A. Swayze) – Pete Lusty of Ivy League’s posthumous band ft dear friend James Roden (John Reed Club, The City Lights). This release marks the 1 year anniversary of Pete’s tragic departure. Ft A Swayze, its a fast energy punk jam reminiscent of The Clash & the Buzzcocks. Big Love for this one & the Ivy league fam!

Baba Stiltz Running for Chad – This one isn’t as new as the other but the fellas voice is just to good not to post. A very sultry song!

Karate BoogalooBumpys Lament – As the name suggest, this tune has us steady bumping. Ft a little nod to Dr Dre in the last 30 seconds.

JesswarTROPIXX EP (EP) – Brisbane’s hardest πŸ’ͺ !!! Check this great video she did with House of Sle at Phoenix Central Park.

Doe RamadaNigerians in Nice WhipsΒ – Sydney rapper and producer who pumped out the releases in the past year. This one is slick as!! Mentions joining a Newtown football team – Might see him at this years Beer Footy Food?!?

Mind Meng Wang ηŽ‹θŒNervous Energy δΈ€ 触即发 (EP) – Some super cool electronic sounds coming from the latest Music In Exile release. “A collaborative effort between Chinese/Australian avant-garde composer Mindy Meng Wang ηŽ‹θŒ, and her Melbourne-based contemporary Tim Shiel (Double J)”

Civic – Tell the Papers – Man I have been trying to get this band up to Sydney since i started working at MBC (5+ years). Another quality release from them & they are signing to flightless! Hopefully have them up here soon..

CourtingGrand National – There has been so much good punk rock coming out of the UK over the last couple years. Here is another one to add to the list, out of Liverpool and sounding a bit like Sports Team or FEET!

That it for this month. If we missed your new favourite track let us know. It wasn’t on purpose!

Added as many Bandcamp links above so you can buy the track’s (if your able) and support the artists. Spotify playlist here as well!
